WOD:
Back Squat 5x3
Max Load: 225-lbs.
You know what's one of the worst feelings in the world? Biting into a fruit or vegetable that is either:
A.) Not Ripe Enough.
B.) Too "Ripe."
I've been eating the most mouth-watering Golden Delicious Apples and Bosc Pears for the past couple of months but today for my mid-morning snack I bit into a pear that literally almost made me hurl my breakfast all over my keyboard - it was that gross. I guess I was "classically conditioned" (thanks Pavlov) into thinking that ALL apples & pears would be delicious which apparently is not the case. It almost made me swear off of fruits & veggies altogether but I thought that might be a bit too prudent on my part especially since bacon is a fruit right? Yeah enough said.
So this morning was Back Squats for 5-sets of 3-reps. The sets this morning definitely felt better than the BS 5x5's we did last week but I still have to remember the cues regarding "spreading the floor" and "hips and shoulders rising at the same time." I think I might be having flexibility issues whenever I Back Squat because I get the most vicious pain near the back of my right shoulder (deltoid?) from attempting to squeeze my shoulder blades together to create that "shelf"
Sigh... I wish I had a "shelf"but alas, my ginormous traps get in the way.
Yeah right.
