Front Squat 5x1
Top Load: 225-lbs. /
Man, I love me some Front Squats... it's one of my favorite lifts and probably because my form & technique are better than average, and I can squat a decent amount so I was pretty excited when I found out that today we'd be trying to hit 1-RM Front Squats.
I usually like to prep for strength days by getting ready the night before, i.e. eating protein/fat-laden foods (chicken/guacamole) for dinner, kind of rest & relax, and hit the sack early for a good night's rest. So I went to bed dreaming of rubber plates & chalk...
...Let me just say there is no better way to start off your day than sleeping through your alarm, and waking up an hour later than you're supposed to. Needless to say that pretty much set the tone for my morning as I was unable to hit a PR. My last 1-RM. FS was @ 235-lbs. which was a PR, today I jumped from 225-lbs. to 240-lbs. which I was unable to complete successfully.
Kind of bummed about that, I thought I could be mentally stronger but at least I was able to hit a solid 225-lbs.
