AMRAP @ 15-min.
15 Overhead Situps
15 Pushups
30 Double-Unders
Total: 8-rounds
For those of you not in the know I officially registered for the 2009 Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge (http://www.midatlantichopper.com/). It's being held at CrossFit BWI this year and I'm already a nervous wreck! I know I shouldn't be as it's all a growing & learning process as an athlete but I can't help look at some of the competitor profiles listed on there and think to myself "Dude... you're in over your head!" There are truly some monsters out there - I keep thinking "Man... that dude is strong!" or "Geez... that lady is quick!" etc. I just need to re-focus my mental game and remember that I'll be representing CFOT. In the end this competition will help me improve & identify weaknesses, strengths, etc. and help me to work them to the utmost of my ability.
So for me it's officially crunch time for preparing for MAHC. Jerry had 2 WODs on the board this morning so I tackled the first one in an AMRAP format even though it was only supposed to 5-rounds. I ended up with 8-rds. in 15 minutes. I focused on ROM and Intensity - the doubleunders were a bear thanks to the other movements. But I made it through.
WOD:
Weighted Chins 5x1
Top Load: 53-lbs.
Most definitely NOT a PR by any means, but any move with an underhand grip aggravates the living bajongles out of the tendonitis in my elbows! What can you do? So I stopped while I was ahead and focused on some weaknesses. I worked Handstand Pushups and HSPU Holds, and then I went through 2 to 3 rounds of the Hero WOD "Nate" which looks like:
WOD - "Nate:"
2 Muscle-Ups
4 HSPUs
8 Kettlebell Swings (70-lbs.)
Made sure I worked the full ROMs: Head-to-the-floor, full arm lockout, and active shoulders during the HSPUs. And I worked full hip extension, no rebending of the knees, and straight, full arm lockout at the top of the heavy KB Swings.
Everything felt pretty good for the most part but I was easily gassed. I've been fighting some sort of bug - my head is all congested, my throat hurts, and I feel weak and winded easily. Hopefully this is a passing thing and won't interfere with training for the MAHC.

What's wrong. You didn't have time to throw in Murph this morning as well.
Holy crap Sean. You are working OT in the OT.
