"Back Squats...? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Back Squats!"

WOD:

Back Squats 5x5

Top Load: 205-lbs.

Ugh. Nothing like heavy back squats on an early Monday morning to get the blood pumping!

I've been slacking on the updates, but only because I've been on leave and hitting the 0645 classes in an attempt to get an extra 2-hours of sleep. Do you know how valuable 2 whole hours of extra sleep is? That's like two extra "cold-side-of-the-pillow" flips FOR THE WIN! But seriously, sleep is a precious commodity - if I could package it & sell it I would and I'd be a made man for doing so (read: filthy).

Back to Back Squats - all of CFOT has to have (at some point in the past couple of weeks) done Back Squats by now, it's almost unavoidable but working the movement is oh so necessary. I felt good today after some warmup sets but I still wanted to work on overall technique so I focused on creating that "shelf," getting a good back angle, and hitting depth at all costs. I'm still having some flexibility issues in my right shoulder though. It almost feels like a "charlie horse" from keeping my elbows high & attempting to squeeze my shoulder blades together and it's only in my right shoulder... crazy I know.

Went for 225-lbs. x 5 but was pretty gassed and only hit 2-reps. FAIL.

Extra:

150 Perfect Pushups (Elite)

I believe by "Perfect Pushup" Jerry means Chin, Chest, Hips touch the deck & rise at the same time w/ full arm lockout at the top. For every failed and/or missed rep ran a 40-yd. sprint.

Does that mean you go to bed 2 hours later? Tempting!

Nope.

Went to bed @ regular time and believe me, I let that pillow know who's boss.
