YAY.

WOD:

Strict Press 3x1
Push Press 3x1
Push Jerk 3x1

Today's WOD focused on overhead strength which is something I'm completely lacking. I have the shoulder strength of a small, pre-pubescent child. It's actually slightly embarassing...

My strict press is abysmal, my push press is terrible, and my push jerk is erratic. I'm pretty confident that increasing my absolute strength would help immensely in a wide variety of strength-based CrossFit WOD's.

I was able to PR today on the Push Jerk with a 185-lbs. jerk, I felt pretty motivated and went for a jerk of 195-lbs. but I couldn't get under it quick enough to lock out my right arm. Coach had some cues & pointers for me and I'm going to keep those in mind next time a WOD like this rolls around.
