"You're a Jerk."

WOD:

Push Jerk 5x1

Top Load: 200-lbs. (PR) / 220-lbs. FAIL.

Ahhhh... a heck of a way to start the day off!

I was able to hit a solid 200-lbs. Push Jerk this morning for a new PR. I had a real ugly miss @ 165-lbs. which was discouraging because earlier that morning I was talking a big game about how I was gunning for "2-bills" and all. So the miss @ 165 rattled my cage a little but I hunkered down and came back with a vengeance!

If you've been following my progress (ZZZZzzzz....) via this blog you've probably come across instances where I've talked incessantly about overhead strength this, or overhead strength that blah blah blah. Man, I cannot begin to tell you how good it feels to put 200-lbs. (or whatever your goal weight is) over your head - I highly recommend it!

Hitting that PR puts a "feather in the cap" on an otherwise great summer of training for me. Push Press PR, Push Jerk PR, Clean PR, Deadlift PR, Front Squat PR, Back Squat PR, and some others. I told Jerry when I first started that I wanted to get strong and that I didn't want to be weak & soggy anymore.

Needless to say Mission? Accomplished! Well... maybe. I plan to focus on my diet here in the next couple of months. Markie D. hooked me up and now I'm reading "The Primal Blueprint" by Mark Sisson. It's all about eating BETTER and the lifestyle that goes along with it. That's what I want though - I want my diet to be an extension of my lifestyle, and I want my lifestyle to say "Hey... this dude is serious about health and fitness." I'll let you know how it goes!

Forgot I did some extra MAHC prep work:

WOD:

2-RFT.

400m Sandbag Run (75-lbs.)
10 KB Swings (70-lbs.)
20 Pushups
30 Double-Unders

Then worked some GHDs!

Sean,
Great adjustment today.
The 200 was fast and powerful.
You'll have that 220, maybe more.

In Strength,
Jerry
