Larry Zoolander: "For Christ's sake, Derek. You've been down there one day. Talk to me in thirty years!"

I'm going to go out on a limb here and profess that Rowing 2000m For Time is, by far, the hardest WOD I have done to date at CrossFit Oldtown. Lame? Probably, but I have never been regulated to the fetal position after almost 8 minutes of "work" in my life. It was horrible...

It started well enough though, I started pulling and just kept pulling hard while trying to maintain some semblance of form. I had my eyes closed and was trying to concentrate on other things (obviously I came in with a game plan). And things progressed nicely... until my legs started to burn and my mouth started to dry out, that broke my focus and I peeked to see how many meters I had rowed:

500 meters!

Five hundred frickin' meters!?! That's it? You gotta be kidding me. This was terrible news!

Anyway, I just kept pulling and I know my form suffered the more & more I got tired, I could feel it breaking down as the row went along. My initial goal was to row a sub-8 minute 2K on the Erg. I was able to do so with some much needed moto from Dan & Jerry - without them I probably wouldn't have made it so big thanks to those dudes because that last 500m just wouldn't end.

Afterwards I could not get my legs to stop burning nor could I stop coughing up junk from my throat & lungs. I was blasted and the morning wasn't even over yet! We still had to do the Deadlift/Double Under WOD. I have missed too many days in the box lately to even warrant an attempt @ 275-lbs. for the deadlifts so I went with 225-lbs. Deadlifts were fine at this weight but the Double Unders went horribly wrong. If you can do DUs under muscular duress you are the man/wo-man! That's where the money is made... this morning I didn't even have two pennies to rub together. It was tough stringing together 10 or 15 at a time because my legs still hadn't recovered from the row and at the end my jump rope broke on me so I had to finish with like 7 or 8 lateral bar hops.

UPDATE: I'm STILL coughing up stuff and my legs are killing me!
