Snowbody Knows the Troubles I See...

WOD:

Perform 3 Squat Cleans (80% of 1-RM. Max) on the minute for 10-mins.

Top Load: 20 reps @ 175-lbs.

Rest 5-mins.

Then AMRAP in 15-mins:

6 Ring Dips* (Subbed 30 Double Unders)
9 Box Jumps
12 GHDs

Hey! So it finally stopped snowing enough for me to shovel out of "Disturbia" and head into the box for a workout. Thank goodness too... you can only do so much cooped up in the house.

I only have couple of things to say about today's WOD:

- The Squat Cleans felt okay this morning. I was only to hit about 20 or so out of the 30 RX'd (not because the weight was heavy but because I was completely exhausted from each & every attempt - I have shoveling snow to thank for that). I'm thinking about investing in a pair of lifting shoes to prevent rolling forward onto my toes instead of driving through the heels. As I got more & more tired my form started to suffer and I kept ending up in a deadlift starting position and chasing the bar in front of me. Gotta get that butt down, get tension on the bar, and then have the butt & shoulders rise together!

Still takin' it easy on the old shoulder so I opted out of ring dips and subbed 'em with 30 Double Unders. I have a thought though and tell me what you think, I'd like to rename GHDs to something a little bit more appropriate. How does this sound:

FNGHDs!!!

What do you think? Kind of rolls of the tongue doesn't it?I think aptly fits the movement to a degree where it describes the pain & frustration involved no? I think GHDs hurt... sorry, I think FNGHDs hurt. You're usually good for the day after doing FNGHDs but somewhere in the days following you lose all control over bowel movements & bladder control. I speak from personal experience!
