The Diesel Factory is Still Closed...

WOD:

15-12-9
Thrusters (115-lbs.)
Muscle-Ups

My SUB'ed WOD looked like this:

45-36-27
Jumping Slam Balls (15-lbs.)

15-12-9
Muscle-Ups

Time: 19:49

Hope everyone had a good 4th of July.

This morning I had to sub out the Heavy Squat Thrusters for Jumping Slam Balls (!) due to injury which to be honest with you is really getting old. I feel like I'm riding the ole "pine pony" and missing out on some serious overhead strength work. And if there's one thing I need in life it's overhead strength. I mean c'mon... CrossFit is all about functional fitness right? How am I supposed to Snatch a new 60" Plasma and mount it on the wall if I don't have overhead strength?

Subbing out Thrusters for Slam Balls made this more of Met-Con workout. The MU's got ugly in the later rounds as I was having a hard time keeping my elbows tight - but they got done.

The '09 CrossFit Games are coming up pretty soon - I can't wait to see what the WOD's look like & who's gonna take the crown of "World's Fittest Man & Woman!" Any picks!?!

Bummer to hear about the nagging injury, for me those can be the most mentally wearing element in crossfit. If you feel like seeing an osteopath or orthopedic, let me know. ...On a brighter note, it's freaking awesome to see your MU progression! You couldn't do one like, what, five months ago? Now you're doing 36 in a workout!! Simply awesome!

You're right, the mental aspect of an injury is probably the most challenging. I really wanna be careful & take things easy but at the same time I wanna play with the big boys & girls and hit things hard. And then there's the hesitancy of coming back from an injury, etc.
