Feeling Like Some "Rudy Poo."

WOD:

Back Squats 5x3

Top Load: 235-lbs. (PR) / 245-lbs. x 2

Man, I don't know what the heck kind of bug has been going around but it seems to be affecting a good amount of people. I don't think it's the flu even though it seems to be that time of year, but I caught it and it pretty much wiped me out all of last week. But it was, in my opinion, the worst kind of sick you could be! You know what I'm talking about... the kind of sick where you're still able to function and even go to work but you're soo miserable & hating life while at work but you're not sick enough to justify burning the sick leave but works makes you feel worse, etc. etc. I felt like that all week, heck I even tried working out like that all week! It was terrible.

I had finally had enough and punted on Friday afternoon at 12:00. I ducked out of work and I went home after hating life for doing "Daniel" in the morning for a "First Friday." I crawled into bed & slept my tail off hoping to finally rid my body of the gloop that was currently living rent free within my temple. Over the weekend I was finally able to get rid of it, and now all that's left is residual squatters that'll be out soon enough.

It felt good to get back in the box. I would say that my body had recovered about 80-85% for this morning's Back Squats, but here's the thing...

CONFESSION: I don't like Back Squats.

GASP!

Nobody likes to feel weak am I right? Well, Back Squats make me feel weak. They also make my right shoulder feel painfully & weirdly inflexible, but I had to work this weakness! Today squatting felt pretty good, my shoulder was still in pain, but I was able to PR with 245-lbs. for three. Jerry said that my last rep was a tad high but I'll still take the progress!

The Mid-Atlantic Hopper is still coming and I'm still nervous. I'm gonna hit it hard this week and then rest up the week before working some light WODs and weaker movements.
