On the way back from the Hopper Challenge Harold and I rode back together and we got to talking about all things life, love, and the pursuit of all things CrossFit (happiness). One of the things we talked about was how tenative I was to hit "Elite" -level Deadlift WODs @ 315-lbs. pounds but now that I was a 400-lb. Deadlifter it was time to start bringing the ruckus! No more fearful Bambi steps - it was time to throw caution & inhibition to the wind and start moving plates like a Golden Corral on a Sunday!
Fast forward to today's workout... After yesterday's butt liquifying circus freak show moving 315-lbs. for 15-reps seemed like a crazy idea. After all, tension & power for a heavy deadlift is generated from that area anyway and since my butt's general composition seemed to be madeup of cotton candy I just had to grin & bear it. This workout ended up being a struggle for me, I could feel my back rounding on almost every single deadlift. Probably 14 out of the 15 reps of deadlifts were nausea inducing but there was a glimmer of hope! One deadlift (actually the 14th one) felt AWESOME - I got my spine extended, chest up, butt lower, tension, slack out of the bar and those 315 pounds came up so easily I felt like I could've cleaned it... okay maybe not that easy but still, I will build my foundation on that one deadlift.

First of all. That picture is pure awesome. And secondly, I note that as you have stepped up to Elite status, Coach has simultaneously - and very quietly - upped the elite weight to an insane level. Coach is insane!
And lastly, if your humorous crossfit related writings are meant to be an audition for the MarkyD and Chad talking Crossfit series: you are hired! I have been carrying Chad on my own in this project for too long.
What a slacker! I will gladly volunteer some of my musings deemed comical for the benefit of the greater good.
